SovEcon: Russia's wheat exports at record 3.9 mln tns December

MOSCOW, Dec 30 (PRIME) – Russia exported 3.9 million tonnes of wheat in December, a record since 2017, Agricultural research agency SovEcon said on Thursday. 

"Wheat exports are estimated at 3.9 million tonnes in December (plus 3% as compared with the last year), which is the highest figure since December 2017," the agency said.

The agency said that Russian wheat was competitive amid growing global prices. The launch of export quotas from February 15 until June 30, 2022 also contributed to the dynamics because some exporters were forced to sell more.
